Learn About the WIC Program With Community Teamwork

Our partners at the Community Teamwork WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) program have created a series of valuable resources about accessing and using the WIC program during COVID. Below, check their guide to find out if you can qualify for WIC and how to apply for the program. Visit their website (www.commteam.org/how-we-help/family-children/wic/) or their Facebook page (@CTILowellWIC) to learn more about the program and to contact them with any questions!

Sign Up For The “Immigration, Culture, and Community” Virtual Program By Noon Today!

Interested in joining our Immigration, Culture, and Community Virtual Program today? This program, offered by the Tsongas Industrial History Center, is designed for ages 9-12. Anyone interested in this program must register before 12 noon. Email tsongasindustrialhc@gmail.com to make a reservation.

Discover the stories of people who came from all over the world to Lowell and make up the city’s diverse community today. Join a Park Ranger and explore objects and personal stories to learn about the immigrant groups who arrived in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, including why they came, how they met the challenges of settling in a different environment, and how they contributed to their new community. This virtual program is hosted on Zoom. Registration is required. Space is limited.

New Program Added to Kids Week 2021!

Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust is hosting “Local Wildlife Game & Nature Discovery,” a free virtual program designed for kids of all ages! Join the fun on Wednesday, February 17th at 11 a.m. for this new program.

We will start with an interactive game exploring local wildlife and their habitats. Together, we will look at close-up photos of local wildlife, and guess the animal the photo belongs to. After the game, we will be scientists and explore some natural items. Bring something from nature that you want to learn more about so we can discover together! What is that green stuff on the stick you found? Why are these pine needles still green? What is making this branch sticky? Student questions will help drive our exploration and discussion, but program leader, Katie, will have some items as well.

To sign up for the program and receive the Zoom link, RSVP at https://lowelllandtrust.org/about-us-2/contact-us/.
